10 Ways WWE Have Already Weakened Sting's Relevance

7. A Decade Of Decline

After his time in WCW, Sting spent a few years away from professional wrestling before joining TNA on a limited basis in 2003. Initially, he was only signed to four appearances which finished up in early 2004 and wouldn€™t be seen again in TNA for over eighteen months at which time he signed a full-time deal. All the time he was in TNA and not in WWE, his stock was seriously decreasing in the eyes of many casual fans. While a lot of people in the know knew Sting was still capable of putting on a good match, to many it may seem that if he€™s not in WWE there€™s probably a reason for that. As great as TNA can be, the general perception of the promotion is that of a vastly inferior company when stacked up against WWE. A lot of wrestlers who work there start to build up a similar reputation, and it€™s one that can be hard to shake. While in TNA, Sting went from being forty-two to fifty-three and worked a full-time schedule for most of that period. It€™s often hard for wrestlers to walk away from the sport, and while Sting still wants to have a WWE match to tick it off his bucket list, both parties may have waited too long in setting it up.
