WWE have been excessively preoccupied with mainstream crossover these last few years, the most recent illustration of which being Ronda Rousey's WrestleMania 34 excursion against Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.

But here's the thing: Ronda, in a break from celebrity tradition, is actually competent in the ring. Her match on 8 April was genuinely good, and not just because it was her first inside the squared circle, nor because her own involvement was kept to a minimum.

It was simply good in its own right. Does that alone guarantee that she could put on a five-star classic alongside Charlotte Flair, this time in the night's marquee women's match (if not marquee match outright), with the weight of expectation resting on her shoulders?

No. But opportunities to put two stars of this ilk in the same ring don't come around too often, and after last month's experiment paid off in such a big way, the company would be foolish to pass up a championship encounter with The Nature Girl in 2019.
