10 Ways WWE Can Turn Around Its Ratings Woes

3. Secondary Titles That Are More Than Just Props

Outside of the WWE, Universal, and Women's Championships, WWE has a lot of titles. Can you remember the last time one of them got a legitimately well-thought-out and compelling storyline, though? Sometimes, the Superstars holding them can make a difference and we do get the occasional great match such as that aforementioned showdown between Andrade and Rey Mysterio.

Shinsuke Nakamura, however, has held the Intercontinental title for months and only now has a viable challenger in Braun Strowman. Other than that, it's been used like a prop and it really shouldn't be that difficult for WWE to keep things competitive with these different title divisions, especially with such a deep roster.

Every championship needs to mean something and we should be seeing Superstars fighting to get their hands on them at every opportunity. Instead, WWE gives the impression that none of the titles outside the world heavyweight picture matter and that means the people at home are thinking the same thing. As a result, how can you expect viewers to want to tune in when most of what they're watching is borderline pointless?

By strengthening these secondary championships, WWE would make its programming stronger and once again help increase interest in the product.
