10 Ways WWE Could Have Improved WrestleMania 36
9. Editing The Edge Vs.Randy Orton Match
The second longest match in WrestleMania history, this one was, “epic,” in the grinding, soul sapping, Triple H sense of the word.
Your writer enjoyed this match more than many, gripped if not thrilled all the way to the final ten count, but it was clearly longer than necessary. Edge might be proud he can still go for forty minutes but that doesn’t mean we should all have to watch it.
Rather than taking the cinematic route, WWE decided to broadcast this one “as live”. That’s fine but it needn’t have stopped them trimming a few minutes here and there. Some editing could really have tightened up the action as well as bringing down the run time. Did we really need quite so much walking and punching down corridors?
All of this is before we even mention the controversial weight machine choke out spot that would’ve been better left on the cutting room floor. Don’t be surprised if that bit is vanished from a future edit of the show on the Network.
