10 Ways WWE Have Shot Themselves In The Foot At WrestleMania 31

3. The Bill DeMott Scandal

Before coming to WWE, Bill DeMott was an undercard nobody in WCW who went by names of such scintillating wit as Hugh Morrus and General Hugh G. Rection. After WCW was acquired by WWE, he achieved nothing of note as an active wrestler and eventually found his way to a trainer€™s position. That€™s when things get really dark, and Bill DeMott€™s awful training practices have been an open secret in the wrestling industry for many years. However, this week, an email to management, sent by former developmental talent Judas Devlin in 2013, has been made public, once again shining a light on the Bill DeMott problem. Among the many terrible allegations, Devlin cites specific incidents of DeMott telling trainees they should kill themselves, being purposefully unsafe with trainees to teach them a lesson, and striking trainees who have known injuries. Following this, many former WWE developmental talents have come out to remind the world they€™ve been talking about this for years, including TNA€™s Ethan Carter III and New Japan€™s Trent? and Kenny Omega. WWE say they conducted a full investigation into Devlin€™s claims and found no evidence, but Dolph Ziggler€™s brother Briley Pierce has stated he was never once contacted about Devlin€™s claim that DeMott kicked Pierce in his injured foot. This is something that WWE have obviously been aware of for years, and with enough separate allegations lining up it seems to be true, so the fact that nothing has been done about it is an absolute travesty.
