10 Ways WWE Is Burying Daniel Bryan

10. Making The Miz His Mentor On NXT

Even in 2009 when this happened, calling Daniel Bryan a rookie and The Miz a mentor was nothing short of an insult. Of course, in WWE terms the latter had been on the scene for a longer time, but Bryan was one of, if not the biggest name on the independents with nearly 10 years experience and a reputation that spread all over the world. Let's not get into either men's ability inside the ropes either. They just don't even come close in comparison. From an outsider's perspective, this was WWE belittling any perceived ego Bryan could have had coming in to the company. Of course, getting to know his character over the last six years this sounds foolish, but WWE weren't to know that heading in. He was in the land of sports entertainment now, something The Miz epitomises. Miz is an ok worker, but nothing special. However, his persona and promos are still to this day some of the best of the roster. The polar opposite to what Bryan was when he arrived on the big stage. Humbling.
