10 Worst Attitude Era PPVS
7. WrestleMania XV
830473WrestleMania XV (aka The Raging Climax) should have been a blockbuster celebration for the fifteenth incarnation of the biggest event in wrestling history, but instead was a damp squib during an era where WrestleMania wasn't quite the spectacle it deserves to be.
The highlight of the night came in the form of Shane McMahon versus X-Pac, who had an explosive match for the European Championship, but it's not enough to elevate the worst WrestleMania of the Attitude Era.
One of the big attractions for WrestleMania XV was the exhibition boxing match between Brawl For All winner Bart Gunn and heavyweight boxer Butterbean, which lasted all of thirty-five seconds and effectively killed Gunn's credibility in America.
WrestleMania XV also features a Hell in a Cell match between The Undertaker and Big Boss Man that ends with Boss Man ludicrously hanged post-match, and after two classic HIAC matches before it, was the first match to demystify the significance of the Cell.
The main event should have been an all-time classic, the first of three WrestleMania match-ups between The Rock and Steve Austin, but the magic isn't quite there on this specific night. The match is overbooked with ref bumps and run-ins, and isn't the knock-down, drag-out brawl it could (and later would) be.
Which usually wouldn't be a problem, but WrestleMania deserves better.
