10 Worst Booked Wrestlers Of 2017

2. Bayley

WWE have made a meal of Bayley's main roster run. Once one of the company's most marketable babyface commodities, she has been presented as a nervous, overawed goober since graduating from NXT in 2016, with the bulk of her most damaging moments coming this year.

Bayley captured the Raw Women's Championship ahead of schedule in February, robbing her of a title-winning WrestleMania moment. Her pure, kind-hearted character was dented after refusing to apologise for effectively cheating to win in the ensuing rematch with Charlotte, and Bayley was then thrust into a feud with the sharp, devious Alexa Bliss, who tore her character to shreds on the microphone, with their 'This Is Your Life' segment standing as one of 2017's most destructive.

This would've been fine had Bayley redeemed herself at Extreme Rules, but she didn't. WWE buried her, with Bliss justifying assertions that the former NXT Women's Champion was no more than a starstruck cloud-cuckoo-lander by crushing her in just over five minutes. Bayley still hasn't recovered from this epic burial.

Much like Becky Lynch on SmackDown, Bayley is now a background player in a division she should be headlining, though the damage to her popularity and credibility is far more pronounced.
