10 Worst Image Changes In WCW History

4. Arachnaman

The late Brad Armstrong (brother of current WWE referee Scott) was an immensely talented wrestler for the NWA and WCW throughout the 1980s and early 90s, making his inclusion on this list a rather sad and unjust one. He worked a number of gimmicks throughout his WCW career, but none more startlingly unoriginal as Arachnaman. Armstrong was made to drop his Badstreet character, an intriguing masked member of The Fabulous Freebirds, and instead became arguably the most blatant comic book rip-off in the history of wrestling (alongside Sting's run as his Joker-inspired character in TNA). Arachnaman's name, look and style was directly lifted from a certain Marvel hero; he even shot webs from his hands during his entrance! The costume wasn't merely terrible for being a huge Spiderman rip-off - it was also clearly shoddy and cheaply-made. Marvel Comics saw the same similarities as everyone else, and threatened legal action if WCW didn't drop the character. Thankfully for everyone involved, they did.
