When Steve Austin and Triple H collided with the Canadian dream team of Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit, the San Jose crowd knew they were in for a memorable encounter. Unfortunately for 'The Game', the match would also be memorable for tearing his quad completely off the bone.

With four brilliant practitioners in the ring, the match had all the makings of a classic from the start and the bout looked set to tear the roof off the Compaq Centre. The crowd erupted when Austin found himself locked in Walls of Jericho and, similarly, erupted once more when Triple H broke up the hold. However, in doing so, "The Game" suffered a quad injury that almost ended his career.

Watching the match back, it's hard to tell just how hurt Triple H was, as he carried on with the task at hand like a complete professional. He even mounted the announce table and took a Walls of Jericho of his own, all while his quad muscle lay severely torn underneath. Despite the injury, the match itself would still achieve a 4.75 star rating from Dave Meltzer, which is a testament to the dedication of "The Game" and his devotion to the craft.
