10 Worst PPV Endings In WWE History

1. Bret Hart Vs Yokozuna - WrestleMania 9

Or, more specifically, Hulk Hogan vs Yokozuna. This is often cited as the worst example of Hogan's legendary selfishness, as he cajoled Vince McMahon into having him regain the WWF Championship at WrestleMania 9 - despite having absolutely no part in the billed main event. A win for Hart over the mountainous Yokozuna would have solidified him as a real fighting champion, and the next big star to carry the company forward through the 1990s. Instead, the heel won thanks to a handful of salt from his dastardly manager Mr Fuji, and Hogan dashed out to ringside to console Bret. Then, in one of the most inexplicable and far-fetched incidents in the history of WWE Pay Per Views, Fuji immediately issued a challenge on behalf of Yokozuna to Hogan. Not only did this make little sense in kayfabe terms, considering the legendary strength of Hogan and the fact that the new champ had already tired himself out in a match, it completely removed Bret from the equation. Of course Hogan won. Not only that, but he won at a ridiculous pace, pinning Yokozuna and winning the championship in twenty two seconds. It was a ludicrously short-sighted decision, one which did absolutely no favours for the future of the company. It also played a big part in the fact that WrestleMania 9 is often declared to be the worst ever, an opinion which would probably carry less weight had Bret kept the belt (especially given the shoddy nature of 'Manias 2 and 11 in particular). As it goes, this horrorshow of an ending makes such an accolade hard for this WrestleMania to shake off.
