10 Worst WrestleMania Title Matches Ever

5. Triple H Vs Roman Reigns - WrestleMania 32

Triple H Roman Reigns
WWE

WrestleMania 32's WWE Title finale highlighted the company's biggest disconnect with its core audience, as the 'Grandest Stage' gradually morphed into a meeting point for the global wrestling fanbase.

With a long, dull match pitching a heel Champion fans didn't overly care about, and a babyface contender they fundamentally refused to support, the Triple H/Roman Reigns clash creatively tanked.

Reigns was in his second WrestleMania show-closer, but his thorough beating by Brock Lesnar (and eventual defeat by Seth Rollins) felt like fan service from the company for relentlessly pushing 'The Big Dog' despite phenomenal resentment from the crowd.

WWE seemed to view this match as their personal re-do, positioning him as a conquering hero over the malevolent 'King of Kings' and The Authority at large.

It failed, of course. Fans will always view Roman as the pet product of the real authority, and Triple H's quest for respect in big matches has created ambivalence, rather than hatred toward him.

Even Stephanie McMahon suffering rare comeuppance with a Reigns spear didn't stem the flow.

Fans still used the contest to sing about what a great time they'd had that weekend, but chants for Shinsuke Nakamura, Enzo Amore and NXT were probably not exactly what the company desired.
