2. Alexa Bliss Vs. Bayley (Extreme Rules)

The final act of WWE's spring deconstruction of the Bayley character, 'The Hugger's 'Kendo Stick On A Pole' Women's Title rematch against Alexa Bliss was a repugnant creative catastrophe with as yet un-rectified ramifications.

Losing her title the month prior to conclude an infuriatingly tepid first reign for the woman that theoretically stood to be the most popular female performer in company history, Bayley wasn't having the best time against Alexa Bliss. First weak in defeat, she was then stupid in follow-through. -Bliss relentlessly bullied her in skits and segments, with their Extreme Rules clash set to be the moment the lovable smiling Challenger finally fought off her inner turmoil long enough to take physical retribution on 'Little Miss Bliss'. It's cool though, she's a wrestler - it's her job after all.

Not so. Though every single fibre of the tale required it, Bayley bottled the battering. Alexa ended a (thankfully) short June clash with some thrashings over her own and went on to her next feud as if no longer troubled. Several months have passed since the abomination, and Bayley's still to maintain the sort of momentum that will convince higher ups that she warrants a place back in the title picture at all.
