10 Worst WWE PPV Matches Of 2021 (So Far)

4. Braun Strowman Vs. Elias

Where: Fastlane

Why It's Here: Braun Strowman is lucky that he didn't quite reach the unwanted status of 'Worst WWE Wrestler Of 2021 (So Far)' before being released. Poor old Elias did strum his way onto that list though, and deservedly so. He acted as a last-minute replacement for an "injured" Shane McMahon at Fastlane, and it was rubbish.

Strowman squashed Eli in less than four minutes as everybody watching at home wondered why this was on pay-per-view at all. Bait and switch tactics are part and parcel of wrestling's gimmicky nature (card subject to change and all that), but WWE went overboard with promotions for Shane vs. Braun before the show then produced this guff.

Sigh.

It was a waste of 240 seconds. Braun bounced Elias around, the announcers pretended he was some unstoppable monster instead of a put-upon, bullied thicko of a giant, and WWE fans knew they'd have to suffer through more McMahon vs. Strowman build before 'Mania 37.
