10 Worst WWE Royal Rumble Final Twos EVER

2. Yokozuna & Randy Savage - 1993

1993 was the first year where winning the Royal Rumble meant a guaranteed World championship match at the main event of WrestleMania. This would normally put a great deal of excitement behind the Rumble match itself. Instead, 1993 ended up as one of the dullest matches in the history of the format.

Among the Undertakers, Mr. Perfects and Ric Flairs, there was also Max Moon, Papa Shango, Skinner and Damien Demento. As lightweight as a Rumble has ever been to that point, it's ironic that the match came down to both the heaviest star they had in Yokozuna, and the legendary Macho Man Randy Savage. The two men battled with Savage gaining the advantage, knocking down the sumo star and hitting him with his trademark elbow drop.

Now the Rumble had been a fixture of WWF for 5 years at that point - meaning the rules should have been clear by then. You can only eliminate a superstar by throwing him over the top rope and out of the ring. Macho Man somehow forgot the rules like he did the year before (but everyone decided to ignore that), and went to pin Yokozuna.

Realising his mistake, Randy leapt full force over the top rope and landed on the floor. Well, that's what it looked like anyway. What was actually meant to happen was Yoko using his strength to push Savage off of him so hard that he was thrown out of the match. So Yokozuna won this final tussle, leading to, once again, one of the worst WrestleMania main events ever.
