10 WrestleMania 32 Mistakes WWE Must Avoid This Year

1. Don't Bury Your Youth

“Push younger talent.” “Don’t rely on part-timers so much." “Wins and losses don’t matter.” These are all stock phrases traded between wrestling fans, business insiders and pundits from fine outlets such as the one you’re currently reading. Each have their merits and drawbacks, depending on the wider context.

But at WrestleMania, wins and losses do matter, and having younger, less established wrestlers rack up a few wins against their older colleagues is the smartest move for all involved.

Last year, The Rock beat Eric Rowan in a six second match after one Rock Bottom. This was after The League of Nations and the New Day were humiliated by Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin and Mick Foley, with the latter two looking like they could barely muster the energy to make it down Mania 32’s excruciatingly long ramp.

That’s to take nothing away from three of the biggest legends in the business, and in truth, WrestleMania just wouldn’t be the same without some Hall of Fame pizazz. But when it comes at the expense of emerging Superstars, it’s a different story entirely. We don’t need to be reminded of what a badass Stone Cold is, because the last thirty years have been proof enough of that.

We do need to be shown how bada** the likes of Rusev and The Wyatt Family are, otherwise we don’t really have any reason to take them seriously for the next year of programming.
