If he was around in the mid-90s, it's safe to say Daniel Bryan (who carried a reputation for being a selfless grafter) would have had little in common with the young Shawn Michaels (who didn't).

If their personalities differed, their careers were awfully similar. Bryan was the feisty under-dog who broke through the glass ceiling against all the odds, winning his crowning world title in the main event of WrestleMania - and as if that weren't eerie enough, he also learnt the ropes under Michaels' tutelage at his Texas wrestling school.

For his refined ring work and ability to elicit response from even the toughest crowd, Bryan is (or, sadly, was) to many fans the HBK of his generation.
