10 Wrestlers Who 'Borrowed' What Got Them Over
3. Daniel Bryan
Say it ain't so. Not the leader of the Yes! movement.
Daniel Bryan is famous for two things, being the shaggy-faced eternal underdog and the YES chant, wherein Bryan leads the crowd in throwing their hands to the sky and repeatedly screaming the word, 'Yes!' Before that, however, was a man called Diego Sanchez. A UFC fighter and an INTENSE one at that, Sanchez became famous for repeatedly bellowing the word YES during his entrance, often inciting the crowd to chant 'yes' alongside him.
He also invented the Yes Cartwheel.
Daniel Bryan, eternal good sport that he is gave a nod to Sanchez on twitter last March: "Watched last night's UFC. @DiegoSanchezUFC inspires me every time he fights, win or lose. The original YES man. Legs, Lungs, HEART". There has been no ill will between the men about the chant and, now that Bryan has retired from in-ring competition, it's not as prevalent as it once was.
