10 Wrestlers Who Are Enjoying A Career-Best Year In 2020

8. Tessa Blanchard

Impact Wrestling

2020 has been nothing if not eventful for the third generation star. Now signed to AAA, Blanchard stepped down from Impact in somewhat acrimonious fashion after going AWOL during the pandemic, and accusations of unsavoury behaviour have dogged her for much of her recent career.

That aside, she also became the first woman in history to win Impact’s world title at January’s Hard To Kill event, blowing off a superb intergender feud with Sami Callahan in the process. Since then, she joined AAA and almost immediately rose to the top of the female roster, winning the top women’s prize in a TLC match (another record breaking achievement for Blanchard, the first American to scoop the Reina de Reinas Championship).

She dropped the title pretty quickly, but with her talent and status it goes without saying that she’ll be a heavy hitter in that division for years to come. At only 25, Blanchard should be one of the top women in the industry going forward, though the impropriety she has been accused of is some ugly business.
