10 Wrestlers Who Became Backstage Outcasts In WWE
4. Buff Bagwell
In WWE history, Buff Bagwell is best remembered for his WCW trial match that main evented Raw: the match that would nix any plans to keep the newly acquired WCW as a separate brand under the WWE umbrella. Nevertheless, his opponent that night Booker T managed to come out of it a star in his new promotion.
One of the key reasons Bagwell didn't last long was his reputation backstage. He already had the notoriety of being a mummy's boy, but in WWE he took it to new levels of cringe. Bagwell had his mother Judy call the company's office to demand they give her son time off to heal after an alleged injury. This injury is often said to have been faked, with Bagwell claiming he was hurt following an assisted powerbomb at the hands of the APA.
As his final notable act in WWE, Bagwell mocked Shane "The Hurricane" Helms for his height and lack of muscle definition, citing both as reasons that Helms would never get over as a pro-wrestler. For this Buff took a frozen ice bottle to the head, busting him open, followed by shots to the back of the head. This incident exhausted the company's goodwill for him, and he was soon exiled from WWE.
