Tyler Bate became one of only two wrestlers to claim WWE title gold during his teens earlier this year when he emerged victorious from the inaugural UK Championship tournament - although given that the other is Renee Dupree, that in itself is no guarantee of future success.

What does seem to bode well, however, is the fact that he is already putting in main event calibre performances, having twice stolen the show alongside Pete Dunne, whose feud did so much to give the newly-introduced belt they were tussling over a sense of worth.

Yet to become an NXT regular, Bate is very much a long-term project - but he carries the same humble nice-guy credentials that a certain Daniel Bryan did years before him, and it may not be long before we see some grassroots momentum work its magic.
