William Jason Lane isn't the only person who felt New Jack's wrath, as years before the stabbing controversy, the latter made headlines with the Mass Transit situation. The infamous incident happened at an ECW event in November 1996, where New Jack was supposed to team up with his The Gangstas partner Mustafa to take on D-Von Dudley and Axl Rotten. However, since Rotten missed the event, Paul Heyman had to find a replacement, and an untrained 17-year-old person named Erich Kulas, who went by the name Mass Transit, convinced Heyman that he was 21 years old and became Dudley's partner.
Kulas was told before the match that he had to blade, and since he had never done that before, he asked New Jack to do the deed. However, Jack cut a bit too deep and severed two arteries in the process, resulting in Kulas bleeding like a fountain. New Jack faced serious charges of aggravated assault but got acquitted as despite it being an intentional act, New Jack only did what Kulas asked for.
He reiterated the same explanation while talking about the incident during an interview with Hannibal TV and even posted a sarcastic reply to an article about the whole ordeal.
