1. Vince McMahon

He has to be top of this list, right? Vince McMahon's entire MO is mocking his fanbase. This is a man who sits atop a wrestling empire that is rotting from the inside, the head of an entertainment company that has completely lost sight of what brought it to power in the first place. Vince McMahon doesn't know whether it is the '80s or '90s but he sure as sh*t doesn't realize that it is almost 2021.

Rather than writing coherent stories and building a wrestling show built on logic and sense, Vince McMahon spends the majority of his creative energy mocking his fanbase. Just take a look at some of the moves in 2020; Otis wins the Money in the Bank briefcase by accident before losing it to The Miz. The Christmas pay-per-view ends with Randy Orton (the heel) setting Bray Wyatt (the face) ON ACTUAL FIRE. The entire debacle that was Lana's supposed push and subsequent demotion. The whole thing is a sh*tshow, and maybe that is the point.

Vince McMahon is very much like a dog with a bone, although the bone in question is 'angering his fanbase'. I suppose the idea is that heat creates an audience that wants to see the heel get their comeuppance. The dwindling viewer numbers suggest otherwise.

There are a lot of things that will contribute to the eventual demise of WWE. Vince McMahon's disdain for his fans is number one, two and three.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
