10 Wrestlers Who Mock You For Taking It Seriously
3. Seth Rollins
WWE is an increasingly difficult product to defend. That has been true for, oh, about 15 years now, but there remain a vast number of wholeheartedly-committed defenders of the faith, men and women who will clutch at any straw to explain away the company's creative missteps and lay the blame at the feet of the fans instead. Seth Rollins may well be the treasurer of that club.
The modern world is a fairly insecure place. Never has a generation of such talented people been crippled with such paralysing anxiety, self-doubt that often manifests itself in passive-aggressive behaviour or, as with the Monday Night Messiah, excessive tweeting. As recently as August, Rollins took to Twitter to complain about the fans' perceived lack of patience when it came to long-term storytelling, as his feud with Rey Mysterio entered its 42nd year.
Rollins has long been a figure of ridicule on social media, thanks largely to his tendency to lash out against the WWE Universe, describing them as 'fickle' and lamenting a perceived lack of patience for long-term storytelling. The fans seemed to have little issue with the long-term storytelling of AEW, but I digress.
Reports that Seth Rollins hates the fans are obviously nonsense, overblown, excessive. 'Hate' is a strong word, after all, but the Monday Night Messiah has been known to chide them from time to time.
