10 Wrestlers Who Never Recovered From Awful Debuts
4. Emmalina
Things didn't exactly go to plan for Emma when she returned to the main roster in March 2016, as she eventually found herself sidelined with a back injury just two months into her comeback.
Sensing her character needed a face-life of sorts when she did resurface, WWE began to air vignettes advertising a 'makeover' which would see Emma transformed into Emmalina. Only, it soon became apparent, after months of the promos airing, that the entire thing was 'a running joke', according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.
Proving this to be the case, when Emmalina eventually made her premiere appearance on Monday Night Raw in February 2017 she announced that we would all now see the 'makeover from Emmalina to Emma'.
Fans quite rightly didn't know how to react to any of this and it wasn't long before Emma was pushed to one side again in favour of the likes of Alexa Bliss, Bayley, Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair.
After losing back-to-back matches to the main roster's newest attraction in Asuka, Emma was then released from her contract in October 2017.
Since leaving those disappointing final months in WWE behind, Tenille Dashwood has gone from strength to strength with her appearances in Ring of Honor and Impact.
Just think, if they'd spent more time letting her wrestle than giving her makeovers, WWE could've been onto a genuine winner with the Australian. Their loss.
