10 Wrestlers Who Should Return To WWE NXT

7. Elias

Where exactly is Elias? The former Drifter has been absent from television for nearly a year with not much in the way of rumors of when, or where, he will return.

Despite starting his WWE tenure in NXT, Elias did not have much in the way of success on the black and gold brand. It became clear soon after Elias' arrival on the main roster that his character was far better suited for Raw and SmackDown over NXT. Running down every town he was in while playing the guitar comes off much better travelling across the country versus the same audience each week at the Performance Center. However, it has recently been reported that Vince McMahon was looking to change Elias' character.

With his look too similar to Macho Man Randy Savage (apparently...) and his gimmick too similar to Rick Boogs, it seems whenever Elias does return it will not be the same man fans were used to seeing. With Boogs solidifying himself on the main roster alongside Shinsuke Nakamura, and a revamped NXT 2.0, it might be the perfect time for NXT to walk with Elias.
