10 Wrestlers Who Suffered Heat From The Undertaker

Suitgate! Yes, the infamous backstage story that may or may not be true, where CM Punk refused to 'dress like a champion' and even had the audacity to talk back to Hall Monitor Calaway, enquiring as to why John Cena didn't have to dress like a champion. The laws of Thuganomics aren't for you to question, Mr. Punk, although this story is another added to the long list of tales where CM Punk got punished for being an ordinary human being in a most unordinary world.

Cast your minds back to 2009, and CM Punk was finally gaining some momentum as a main event heel, bringing a slightly toned down version of his Straight-Edge Saviour gimmick to the WWE. Punk was a long way from established though, and maybe treading a little more carefully backstage would have helped. Instead, the disagreement on suits happened, and Punk soon dropped the title to Undertaker in a pay-per-view curtain jerker.

There is obviously more to the story than that, and booking decisions rarely revolve around one single disagreement about tailoring options. CM Punk and Undertaker went on to have a great match at WrestleMania 29, although that feud wasn't without its rumours of heat and controversy after Punk used the urn of Paul Bearer (who had not long passed) to taunt Undertaker.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
