10 Wrestlers Who Will NEVER Be All Elite (And Why)
8. Seth Rollins
The Monday Night Messiah is among the WWE’s most decorated full time wrestlers.
Rollins’ runs in the Shield, the Authority and on his own have cemented him as one of this generation’s leading stars. Often a fan favourite, Rollins had a surprisingly disappointing run as the face of RAW last year due to lacklustre booking. Popular coming off his WrestleMania win over Brock Lesnar, Rollins feuded with A.J. Styles, Baron Corbin and teamed with real life fiancée Becky Lynch.
While Rollins worked hard, his promos and the interminable Corbin feud began to sour fans. By the time he beat The Fiend by stoppage (inside Hell in a Cell no less), the Architect was getting jeered heavily. Audiences wanted something new from Rollins, leading to a fresh coat of paint via his heel turn.
Some might expect potential creative frustration to lead to Rollins taking a page out of old pal Jon Moxley’s book and jumping ship. Given Rollins’ Twitter feud with Will Ospreay last year, and opinions on Moxley’s aforementioned departure, it appears he has no intention of going All Elite.
Rollins has frequently promoted WWE as the true home of best in the world-calibre wrestling. Between his brand loyalty, consistent push and a partner who plays an even bigger part on the show he works, don’t expect to see a Wednesday Night Messiah popping up.
