10 Wrestlers Who Won't Be In WWE Royal Rumble 2017 Match

6. Rich Swann

Speaking of divisional champions, Rich Swann is the current Cruiserweight Champion and a potential entrant in the Royal Rumble. Unlike Tyler Bate, Swann is already going to be in San Antonio, as he'll be defending his title against Neville on the undercard.

The problem with putting Swann in the Royal Rumble is that it kind of undermines the cruiserweight division. There's never been a weight limit on WWE's so-called heavyweight titles - including the world titles - but the fact that the cruiserweights have their own show and that WWE is trying to give it some emphasis (if not quality booking) means that the 205-and-under stars won't be going for any other belts in the near future. After all, that would immediately establish the Cruiserweight TItle as second tier, and while the creative team's already kind of done that, they're not ready to state it explicitly.

Given that, don't expect Swann, Neville, or any of the other 205 Live regulars to participate in the Royal Rumble match.
