10 Wrestlers With Unfinished Business In WWE

6. Rey Mysterio Vs. The WWE Universe

A little bit of fantasy booking is needed with this one, but it seems like something that was never truly dealt with. Rey Mysterio is one of those performers who can never really turn heel, and when it does happen it just doesn't seem to work. The high flying legend of lucha is a babyface, through and through.

Still, he wasn't received as a babyface when he entered the 2014 Royal Rumble as the 30th and final participant. In front of a crowd desperate to see Daniel Bryan Rey was positively booed out of the building, and the crowd proceeded to sh*t on the match from there on out. Rey didn't really respond to the whole thing too much, getting a couple of spots in before being dumped over the top rope to huge cheers by Seth Rollins.

Mysterio was thrown under the bus somewhat here, and surely would have held some frustration and resentment towards the fans afterwards. Rey hardly performed from here until his release in February 2015, appearing in tag and six mans here and there.

What better way to turn Rey heel than to let him express anger towards the WWE Universe for his reception that night in Pittsburgh? This business never truly got started, but it was left unfinished.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
