10 Wrestlers WWE Gave Up On In 2017

1. Becky Lynch

She might be one of the most talented women in the world, but Becky Lynch has endured a torrid year on SmackDown. Where once it looked like she was being positioned as the brand's female ace, the 'Lass Kicker' has become a non-entity in 2017, and has fallen out of the Women's Title scene completely.

Alexa Bliss defeated Lynch to retain the gold several times earlier in the year. She has received only one shot since then (WrestleMania 33), and has won just three singles matches since April, one of which was against James Ellsworth. Performers like the unseasoned Carmella, unconvincing Naomi, and perma-dull Natalya have replaced her at the top of the pile, with Lynch left feeding off scraps.

Her demotion is baffling. Charismatic, sympathetic, and great in the ring, her she boasts one of the company's most well-rounded skill-sets, yet WWE seem to have lost all interest in pushing her. It doesn't make any sense, and Lynch's push must be restored if the division is to recover from its 2017 downturn.

Becky's miserable year hit a new low at Survivor Series 2017, when, as SD's team captain, she was eliminated from the women's 5-on-5 bout after just two minutes. Currently filming The Marine 3 in Europe, it'll be a while before we see her again: here's hoping she returns with renewed focus, because she's too good for this.
