10 Wrestlers WWE Gave Up On In 2017

9. Mike Kanellis

Lana's fall from grace was swift, but it was nothing compared to that of Mike Kanellis, who was shunted out of the spotlight almost immediately after debuting.

Him and his wife, Maria, made their first appearance together at Money In The Bank. Entering to a garish '80s-style rock ballad, they spat a god-awful promo on 'the power of love,' with Mike presented as a leftist-baiting subservient husband. The gimmick was atrocious, and so were his fortunes. The Kanellises barely appeared over the next few weeks, but Mike soon engaged in a brief feud with Sami Zayn, only to disappear from television soon after.

WWE were never interested in doing anything with Mike from the start, which begs the question of why he was signed in the first place. He has worked just five televised matches since signing in July, with the last one coming in October, when he lost to Bobby Roode. With the pregnant Maria off television, it doesn't look like his fortunes will improve anytime soon either.

Mike Kanellis isn't even an enhancement talent: he's just not being used, with his 'push' standing among the year's worst.
