10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week

8. That Nia Jax Raw Sabbatical Was WWE's Decision

Shortly after No Mercy, Nia Jax disappeared from WWE TV for a few weeks. Online rumours suggested she had fallen out with management and might not be back, but her real-life friend Alexa Bliss repeatedly stated during interviews that she was just taking some time off. Up until now, fans haven't known the full story.

It turns out Bliss was right. When chatting about WWE's UK tour with The Mirror, Jax said the sabbatical was more innocent than the internet presumed. There was no conflict with Raw's creative team and Nia revealed she's never been upset at her on screen direction. She just needed a little break to refocus.

Jax did admit that the writers didn't have anything for her, so it was suggested she take a short holiday rather than appear for the sake of it. That's actually a good idea; meaningless matches (or worse, losses) would be more detrimental to Nia's character than taking some time away.

Those rumours can now be put to bed.
