10. Cody Didn't Want To Wrestle Goldust Again

The contrast between matches Cody and Dustin Rhodes had at WWE Fastlane 2015 and AEW's Double Or Nothing couldn't be greater. Four years ago, Cody was in the blue and silver face paint as Stardust, and Dustin was still playing his classic Goldust character. At the time, hopes were high the brothers would work again at WrestleMania 31.

Cody is glad they didn't.

During the post-Double Or Nothing media scrum, he told interviewers that he fancied taking part in the Intercontinental Title Ladder fray more than he did working Dustin again. It was nothing personal, but Cody believed he needed to move on from Goldust if he was ever going to shed the unwanted Stardust gimmick.

This will be disappointing news to anyone who blames WWE for refusing to book a rematch after Fastlane's original. Cody didn't want it, but he's glad they got to work again under their own terms in AEW. All's well that ends well.
