7. Tommy Dreamer Tried To Sign Kimbo Slice To WWE
Tommy Dreamer's most recent WWE appearances came when teaming with The Dudley Boyz against The Wyatt Family. Between 2000 and 2010, the former ECW original also worked behind the scenes, acting as part of the Talent Relations department. One of his jobs was to help scout potential talent for the promotion to sign. In an eye-opening admission to WWE's official website, Dreamer said that he once pitched the idea of bringing Kimbo Slice into the fold. At the time, the future UFC star hadn't yet become a big name, meaning he was an untapped resource talent-wise. Unfortunately, that's what would cost him the chance at a pro wrestling career, because others in the WWE offices weren't convinced he was worth the hassle. Dreamer tried to force the issue, impressed by the VHS demo tape sent in by Kimbo's management. Dreamer's boss, John Laurinaitis, put a stop to any idea of bringing Slice in, believing it to be counter-productive to spend money training him. Things could have been very different for the MMA fighter, had Titan took a chance on him.
