In a slight change of gears in comparison to the rest of his this list, Kurt Angle's eventual termination from WWE was one that the star himself advocated for after finally feeling enough was enough.

After doing significant damage to his abdominal muscles, groin, and hamstring in a bout with Rob Van Dam whilst part of the ECW brand, Angle ultimately decided that he'd had it with the company after a contest with Sabu. The Olympic Hero would later storm into a production meeting McMahon was a part of and reveal the damage he'd done to his body, setting the stage for a conversation at Stamford that would lead to his exit.

The two would discuss a string of aggressive and abusive messages Angle had pinged over to the boss whilst high on painkillers here, and after Vince had invited his star to throwdown there and then, the Wrestling Machine begged to be let go for his own health.

McMahon agreed that Angle could use some time away to rehab and get better, but instead of taking him up on his offer to return when he felt fit, the former WWE Champion opted to sign with TNA instead.
