Rey Mysterio's storybook run with the World Heavyweight Championship seemed to be coming to an end at Judgment Day 2006. Challenger JBL was bullying Mysterio with his superior size, putting him down over and over, but Mysterio would not be pinned and would always answer the referee's ten count. Finally, he used a 619 and a Frog Splash to score the win.

Days later on Smackdown, JBL demanded a rematch. Putting his career on the line, he once again fell to Mysterio and had to retire. In reality, JBL was suffering from a back injury that had forced him to call it quits, and he soon transitioned into a role as a color commentator.

Come the end of 2007, though, JBL felt well enough for one more run. He competed throughout 2008, but when 2009 rolled around, his back was once again giving him trouble. In a nice bit of symmetry, his last match was against Mysterio, who beat him to retain the Intercontinental Title in 21 seconds at WrestleMania XXV.

Following the loss, a furious JBL took a microphone and quit on the spot. He hasn't taken a bump since.
