10 WWE Announcements That Fell Flat

To stave off any accusations of revisionism, let's be fair here: the initial announcement of Undertaker's WrestleMania 32 match with Shane McMahon did elicit a fairly enthusiastic response from the live Monday Night Raw audience.

But how could it not? We only got to see the Deadman wrestle once a year, and probably would have cheered the news that he was going up against Linda McMahon (especially if it was inside Hell in a Cell).

When the dust settled, though, fans couldn't hide their disappointment at the fact that one of 'Taker's final WrestleMania opponents would be a man who hadn't wrestled in nearly a decade, the culmination of a last-minute feud which was only conceived as a way to paper over the unfortunate injury crisis that beset WWE in early 2016.
