10 WWE Announcements That Fell Flat

There were two major reasons that 2012's anonymous GM reveal didn't work.

First, they only let us in on the identity of the man behind Michael Cole roughly a year after the whole angle had died a slow death. And since WWE wrestlers have the sort of memory spans that only allow them to hold grudges for up to a couple of months at a time, there were no real consqeuences for whomever it was directing traffic all that time.

Second, it was Hornswoggle. They already pulled that trick once when they announced that he was the illegitimate son fathered by Vince McMahon in 2007, and fans by this point had long since grown weary of seeing Finlay's side-kick all over the WWE product.
