10 WWE Babyfaces You Forget Were Awesome Heels

7. Daniel Bryan

In 2014, there are few wrestlers more beloved than Daniel Bryan. His odyssey that culminated at WrestleMania XXX was one of the most captivating struggles in recent memory, and everyone was heartbroken when he was forced to vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Championship due to injury. However, it's not that long ago that he was the most entertaining bad guy in WWE. When he won the World Heavyweight Championship from Big Show in 2011, he was still ostensibly a face, but when the victory celebration never ended he began to show a darker side. He'd celebrate every single victory like he won the title for the first time all over again, and skipped to the ring shouting "YES! YES! YES!" He was terrible to his besotted girlfriend, AJ Lee, and blamed her for his eighteen second loss at WrestleMania XXVIII. Somehow, he became beloved by the WWE Universe, and cheers of "YES!" drowned out everything the following night on Raw, an episode Daniel Bryan wasn't even on. WWE could have pulled the trigger then, but they cannily waited. Bryan was sent to anger management where he formed an unlikely alliance with Kane and his journey back to the side of angels was a slow one as the team learned to work together. While Bryan is currently one of the most popular stars in the world, it's a relief to know he has the skill to be just as good as a bad guy. Maybe WWE will utilise him in that role again one day.
