10 WWE Developmental Champions Who Came To Nothing

6. Chet The Jett

Other than looking like a strange mix of Jack Swagger and The Miz, the chances are you couldn't tell me too much about the professional wrestling career of Chet Douglas. He was known as Chet the Jett in OVW and 'Super Fan' Chet Douglas in FCW, and I'm still not entirely sure what to make of that first name.

Chet the Jett was a two-time OVW Heavyweight Champion, with both of his runs coming in 2006. Still, he does have one impressive victory on his resume, as his first championship win came by defeating none other than CM Punk, who had held the strap for almost three months. Chet was never called up to the main roster, and was released in 2008 after violating the WWE Wellness Program.

One side-note however: Chet was almost called up to the main roster at one point to play a Polish-American wrestler, but the idea was nixed when it was clear that Chet couldn't speak Polish. For an idea of how tough that language is, his real name is actually Neil Bzibziak. Pronounce that.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
