10 WWE Divas Who Benefited From Dating A Wrestler

2. Sable

Brocklesnar Sable If you watch Wrestlemania XII you'll find an infamous match involving Triple H which happened to be his Wrestlemania debut. It also happened to last a grand total of 100 exact seconds, as he was devoutly squashed by the Ultimate Warrior. Considering the allegations of burying Hunter suffered from in the mid-noughties, it's an ironic occasion. One lesser noticed detail of this match was another debut, that being the WWE debut of Sable, who came out attached to Hunter's arm as his latest in a series of valets paraded as property for the blue-blood. At the time, Sable was married to €œWildman€ Marc Mero, who also debuted with the company that same night. Both the debuts were played into an angle where Helmsley blamed his loss on Sable and Mero stepped in to defend her, starting a long feud that would last the rest of 1996 and taking his wife as his on-screen manager. Mero came into WWE with a good deal of hype and was promoted well by Vince throughout '96, until an injury in 1997 derailed his momentum. He returned as a heel and began mistreating Sable, leading to the fans to rally behind her. By the turn of 1998, she had begun receiving one of the biggest pops of any given night, coinciding entirely with the increase in her breasts and ever-plunging necklines of her dresses. She was even placed in main event angles on Raw in February, before winning at two straight Wrestlemanias, becoming the reinstated Women's champion and appearing on the cover of the- then- highest selling issue of Playboy of all time. Sable's on-screen inflating ego reflected a similar process going on behind the scenes, as her desire for fame and money led her to making an ill-advised choice to attempt to sue WWF for $110 million dollars and didn't receive a dime. She would eventually return to WWE in 2003 for a one-year stint as Vince McMahon's latest Diva fling, during which time she met her husband Brock Lesnar. The pair remain an item today and have two sons together. Yep, it's safe to say WWE has been kind to Sable.
