10 WWE Feuds You Didn't Realise Were Shockingly One-Sided

9. Bret Hart Vs. Shawn Michaels

Bret Hart 5-2 Shawn Michaels.

This is the second example of fans remembering the final match so well, but not the story that came before it.

The two first crossed paths when The Hart Foundation took on The Rockers in a number of matches that Bret's team always won. The two teams even had a match at SWS Wrestlefest In Tokyo Dome - a rare outing in Japan for WWE wrestlers, where the Harts still came out on top.

It wasn't until the two started to compete against each other one-on-one that things got interesting.

Their first televised match was at WWF Wrestling Challenge #180 but it ended in a double disqualification... but their first match with a real ending was at Survivor Series 1992, and it ended with another Hart victory. What is it about that pay-per-view and these two?

Their next match would be there too. The Heartbreak Kid lost to a Hart Brothers team which included Owen, Bruce, and Keith despite teaming with The Black Knight, The Blue Knight, and The Red Knight. Don't go and watch that back.

Finally, the really memorable stuff. HBK went over at WrestleMania XII in their famous Ironman match, then the less said about the Montreal Screwjob, the better. People always talk about their last match, but for half a decade, Bret had Shawn's number whenever they came up against each other.

Hart was Vince McMahon's man right up until Michaels was, but when they shared a ring, WWE had a clear favourite for years.

When I'm not trying my hardest to visit all 50 U.S. states, I'm listening to music from the 80s, watching TV from the 90s, and reminiscing about growing up in the 00s. I'm currently living in Melbourne, Australia so WWE premium live events are on Sunday afternoons for me; the absolute dream.
