10 WWE Gimmick Matches That Totally Sucked

2. Hogpen Match

The original Hogpen match in December 1995, featuring Henry O. Godwinn settling his differences with the entitled blue blood Hunter Hearst Helmsley, was significantly better than it had any right to be, thanks to the efforts of the Superstars involved. Still, the gimmick itself was ridiculous and one that never needed to be seen on WWE television against.

Fast forward 14 years later to the Extreme Rules pay-per-view, where Vickie Guerrero would square off with Santina Marella in the vaunted feud-ender.

There is so much wrong with that sentence.

First, there is nothing remotely extreme about the match. Second, Vickie Guerrero should never compete against Santino Marella in drag. Ever. Completely unnecessary. Beyond that, the match was an excuse to get comedy onto a show that was supposed to be the most hardcore of the year. Guerrero and Marella slipped, slid and bumped around the hog pen, both getting filthy and disgusting in the process.

The result was not only a match with the stench of sucktitude, it was also one of the worst in the long and illustrious history of WWE, though through no fault of the participants involved.
