Since splitting from Lana, Rusev has found his career on a downward trend. An injury in May to his leg forced a sabbatical, making 2015 a strange year for the 'Bulgarian Brute'. If one thing is for sure, Rusev's current incarnation, including a romance with Summer Rae, is failing to hit home with the audience. There was something striking about the on-screen look of Lana and Rusev. The pair were a good match for one another, but WWE's creative team have been lazy about implementing Summer Rae into proceedings. If the company were so intent for Rusev to stand on his own post-Lana, why insert another Diva into her place? Rusev should be standing on his own merits. It's probably too late to reinstall Lana by Rusev's side, their whole story revolved around the idea that the wrestler felt he owned his manager. That said, WWE need to make their mind up on exactly what role they want Rusev to fill. Is he going to be mid-card cannon fodder or a top star, for example. It's impossible to be both, and Summer Rae doesn't exactly enhance his gimmick.
