Teddy Long created so many of these as SmackDown's General Manager that even the WWE has joked about it. However, the fact that they can clearly see how silly a trope it is makes it all the more frustrating that it's a match finish still used on an almost weekly basis. A singles match will end in a disqualification when two heels decide to interfere, but then a babyface tag team (who are more often than not engaged in a separate feud with said heels) will come to protect the one Superstar being attacked. An authority figure might then appear to make it a six man tag team match or one will suddenly just be happening when Raw or SmackDown return from commercial break. It's just so tired and predictable! This match finish has become a staple of The Authority as of late, and there really are only so many combinations of teams taking on Seth Rollins, Kane, and The Big Show one can endure on a regular basis. It would be better if the WWE just arranged a well put together and structured six man tag team match rather than these disappointing "sudden" tag team bouts which subsequently end up featuring two competitors who are tired from a match!
