10 WWE Match Finishes Which Need To Die

6. Referee Decision Reversal

A favourite of Dusty Rhodes, this booking decision isn't trotted out too often, but it would be no bad thing to see it disappear from WWE television regardless. Frequently used at house shows, is there anything worse than believing that a fan-favourite has emerged victorious in an important title match only to have that then pulled away from them moments later? No matter how fans might feel, this is also a finish which makes absolutely no sense. Take what recently happened between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. An official came to the ring, counted to three, and officially made Ambrose the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. However, the referee who had been pushed by Rollins then demanded that the decision be reversed, and Ambrose was subsequently stripped of the title as a result. The referee's decision should be final, but if they can change their minds like in this case, why aren't match results change when a replay of a Superstar cheating plays right in front of them after the bell rings? How many times has a referee been pulled from the ring by a heel's ally, with absolutely no ramifications? This is selective booking at its very worst.
