10 WWE Match Results That Didn't Matter At All

1. The Undertaker Vs. Shane McMahon (WrestleMania 32)

When Shane McMahon returned to WWE in February 2016 and was immediately booked in a WrestleMania match with The Undertaker, ticket sales for the event soared. Not only had the popular on-screen character returned, but the face of WWE was set to change - if McMahon won, he'd get control of Raw, and he promised to make wrestling as fun as it used to be.

Of course, winning wouldn't be easy - at the time, The Undertaker had only suffered a single loss at WrestleMania, and it was hard to believe that the second would come at the hands of Shane McMahon. They battled in a Hell in a Cell contest that reminded fans that Shane was never exactly a top-level talent, and in the end, Undertaker won with a Tombstone.

The very next evening on Raw, though, Vince McMahon - who had commanded Undertaker to destroy his son weeks earlier - claimed to be impressed by Shane's fighting spirit and gave him control of Raw for the night. In subsequent weeks, WWE claimed that "social media support" for Shane led Vince to allow him to continue running Raw, and soon Shane was in charge regularly. Stephanie eventually returned, leading to the brand split, where Shane got permanent control of SmackDown.

No word on when WWE gets fun.
