From @MarlowRichard: Is there a real culture change in @WWE? The @wwebalor promo shows his real wrestling background and doesn't insult us.
That is a great question because NXT treats the business as more of a sport because they know the smarter fans are watching NXT. Triple H knows that if they have Finn Balor talking about his early days in the business, his run in Japan and the early part of his WWE career then it makes him more likable. Fans want to be able to relate to performers. If fans know that Finn Balor spent over a decade to get to WWE and then see clips of him working elsewhere then that makes him easier to relate to. They can say "look at how far this guy has come" and it makes them want to root for him. On the main roster, they would rather try to get characters over by giving them a ridiculous dancing gimmick like Fandango because they think that will make a guy stand out. There's no culture change in WWE as a company. It's just the NXT brand that does things differently and the way that the main roster should do things too. The NXT brand continues to be the best part of WWE because of things like those videos they've aired about Balor. He's a huge star that has a very bright future in WWE, no question about it.
