6. Comparing Awful Lines In Diva Storylines?

From @KJB30: What was better: The Reid Flair line, or the "died in the womb" line?
Bad writing strikes again. When Charlotte mentioned her late brother Reid on Raw it made me groan because I knew what was coming and, sure enough, they had Paige take a shot at him saying he didn't have a lot of fight in him, which is why he died. The reason they did it is to make Charlotte more of a sympathetic face because she doesn't have much of a character and all they seem to know what to do with her is mention that Ric Flair is her dad. Like that's going to get her over all on its own. The problem is, mentioning her brother (who died of a drug overdose less than three years ago) is very offensive and it's clear that WWE cared little what her family thought. Since the promo, Ric Flair and Reid's mother Beth Flair (who are no longer married) both talked about not being happy about it. Ric isn't going to bury WWE for it, but I listened to his podcast and he clearly wasn't happy. Can you blame them? Reid was 25 years old when he passed and it was an accident. To mock that in a storyline just to get some heat on Paige is pretty ridiculous and downright insensitive. As for the "died in the womb" line, that was Nikki Bella saying it to sister Brie last year. That one was bad, but it was more of a comically bad line in that it was so cheesy that it made you just want to laugh and it wasn't offensive. And besides, that wasn't based on any real-life animosity between the twins.
